Album Blog #1

Hello folks.

Michael from JS here.

As some of you may be aware we are currently getting our debut album ready before we hit the studio. We are really excited about this new material and feel that is the perfect progression from ‘Standard Bearer’. We have 20 ideas that have circulating the rehearsal room and on the whole they are sounding more commercial than our last release. There are not as many time signature changes as before, however the music is much more dynamic. I am writing a lot more from the heart on this record too; I think previously I was a little held back with some of the writing.

All of the material that is going on the record is NEW. You wont hear any new versions of any old songs. Here is a list of some tracks that may make the album;

Alcatraz, Good For Nothing, Cut The Cold Out, Hollow Form, Two Evils, Timekeeper, Controller.

You may have heard one or two of these on shows recently, we can’t wait to get this record together and recorded as soon as possible - it’s going to be worth the wait.

Jumping Ships - Talisman

I wrote and directed this video about 6 months ago in Brighton (where I’m living at the moment). Jumping Ships are a great bunch of lads so check them out on facebook and give them a like. The video stars a great actor we use sometimes called Tim Daish, another rising star. The story we went for was fairly dark but I always find those storylines easier to shoot. My mind normally wonders towards darker ideas and this this one is no exception. It came started off because I saw a friend’s magic 8 ball and did my stupid trademark action of picking it up and asking ‘will andy pick me’ (from Toy Story) haha. Simple minds eh!

New Drummer Announcement!!!

It gives us great pleasure to announce our new drummer - The one and only Oli Austen!

We are super stoked to have Oli in the band - he is an Amazing drummer and a bit of musical genius - drums, guitar, vocals - he’s got it all!

Our first show with Oli also happens to be our first show of the year… This friday at The Prince Albert, Brighton for OIB Record’s ‘Sea Monsters Festival’.
